MPEGA Library for WarpUP

Steffen Häuser ported the MPEGA library to WarpUP a few weeks ago. The WarpUP version is already faster and more stabile then the PowerUP version. You can find mpega-warpup.lha in Aminet util/libs.

Imagine the Amigans favorite rendering software goes WarpUP. We will give more information on it as soon as we get it.

Titan Warp´s UP

All upcoming Titan Products will have WarpUP support besides PowerUP, so the user will be able to chose his favorite kernel. The Game Claws of the Devil will also support Warp3D. In the near future already available title's such as Candy Factory Pro and Fantastic Dreams will feature WarpUP support. www.titancomputer.de

Release of Warp3D and StormMesa 3.0

The first version of the hardware independent 3D driver system Warp3D is available. Finally there exists a way to use the power of 3D graphics boards, as it is done on other platforms for a long time. More

EGCS for WarpUP

Finally EGCS is able to compile WarpUP compatible elf files. This ensures that future EGCS Programs will be able to run on any kind of PPC hardware (such as the upcoming ESCENA G3 boards). EGCS - WarpUP can be downloaded at cs.tu-berlin.de/~paladin .
UPDATE: There is a tool (Elf2Hunk) currently in development which will make the WarpUP-Elf format worthwhile.


03-Nov-98:

G3 Accelerator Boards are coming up

Thomas Dellert (DCE Boss) confirmed the rumors. There will be G3-Dual-Prozessorboards for the Amiga. Dellert points at www.escena.de where you will soon find more detailed information.

BVision release delayed

The BVision release is now set for late November ´98. phase5 also plans a new cheaper price for the BVision in order to make it more attractive for the enduser.

The long awaited AmigaOS 3.5 homepage of Amiga Inc. has been unveiled. Here you will find a first feature list which also mentions PPC support. AmigaOS 3.5

New PowerPC Games on the Horizon

Summer is over but the winter could become real hot for PPC gamers! There are new games in the making such as Titan Computer's "Claws of the Devil" - a Tomb Raider clone, and their upcoming "Total Combustion" (Car wars game). From the English newcomers Q-Group we will see "Fubar". Digital Images is going to release 3 PowerPC games: "Digital Fighter," "Digital Soccer" and "Jet Stream". Then there's "Tales of Tamar" (Strategy) from Eternity, "Phoenix" (3D Space Action) from APC&TCP and "Explorer 2260" from Vulcan-Software. If you can't wait you can preheat your PowerPC with Holger Jakobs PPC-Descent port for the time being.


27-July-98:

Phase 5 have canceled the release of the A2000 PowerUP Board

Phase 5 are not going to release the Blizzard 2604 Board since there is no demand for such a board on the marked. The free developer resources are going to be used for future Projects.
